A few words about us
Take a look at the place and the people.
Take a look at the place and the people.
In 1955, a number of Christians in Chelmsford and district had a vision to provide camping holidays, initially for boys only, and so began what soon became known as Essex Christian Camps.
The camps have always been primarily under canvas, using sites in various parts of Essex and Suffolk, and currently enjoying the facilities of the Faith Mission at Red House, Earl Stonham near Stowmarket.
For many years, there were separate weeks of camp for girls and boys, but now the camp is mixed gender and currently runs for one week in August. Thousands of young people have been and continue to be challenged by the Christian faith through the camps as well as having an exciting holiday away from home.
Over this long history of camp there have been many changes – in venues, facilities, leaders and activities. One thing that has stayed the same is our objective to clearly present the good news of Jesus Christ to young people, and provide an environment of support and encouragement for Christians and non-Christians alike.
Essex Christian Camp is an independent Christian organisation supported by churches in Essex. All the team leaders, cooks and camp leaders are Christians. ECC is lead by James & Rachel Bell.
We hope you can join us at Camp this year – 11th – 17th August 2019! BOOK HERE
